Welcome prospective students of PADI Freediver course. Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. If you've always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.

To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.

In each course, knowledge development covers principles and foundational information for what you’ll put into practice with your instructor during confined water (pool or pool-like environments) and open water sessions. In most instances, you’ll complete primary knowledge development independently, then meet with your instructor for review, refinement and for guidance in applying what you learn to you and your freediving circumstances.

The PADI Freediver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge development about freediving principles through independent study with PADI Freediver eLearning which includes freediving physics, biology and safety in water.
  • Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea; stretching and flexibility; human anatomy and muscle coordination; Goal - static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet.
  • Open water sessions to practice equalization skills; free immersion (FIM0 and constant weight (CWBT) freedives, plus proper buddy procedures and safety protocol. Goal - constant weight (CWBT) freedive of 10 metres/30 feet.

Gear: In the PADI Freediver course, you learn to use a mask, snorkel and fins, and may also use a wetsuit and weight belt (Gears are included as part of the course fee, except mask and snorkel due to personal hygiene and protection from COVID-19). Using gear designed specifically for freediving is best, however, in this course, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own.

Certification means you’re trained to dive within the limits you’ve been taught, in conditions generally similar to, or better than, those in which you trained.

Course Fee includes the PADI elearning instruction materials, exam fees, certification fee, diving gear, pool tickets (except Dive cube ticket)
